FreeCol is an open-source strategy game inspired by the classic Sid Meier's Colonization. It allows players to recreate the colonization of the New World by European powers during the Age of Exploration. In FreeCol, players manage their colonies, trade with natives and other European powers, and engage in diplomacy and military conflicts. The game aims to provide a deep and strategic experience similar to its predecessor while offering modern features and improvements.
